Unfortunately not. The Friendly Local Food Delivery program started in July 2020, complimenting our residential organic waste service, as a way to connect more homes with local and sustainably sourced food. We created partnerships with over 40 local growers and makers, delivering over 5000 orders to local subscribers in just over two years. The program wrapped up in October 2022, allowing Friendly to shift resources and efforts towards vital food waste diversion programs. If you are not already composting, please consider supporting us!
Roommates, beach volleyball partners, and besties - Claire McLoughlin and Katie Forsyth founded Friendly Composting in March 2020. The pair were living in an apartment and wanted a solution to divert their food waste. Coming up short with solutions from the City of Kamloops they decided to privatize a service that would make organics collections more accessible.
